8.30.08 Adding to production notes now. L/D, FF, END & RANGE testing now. Documenting speeds for POH style outline. Interior good at this point to found the pre-established $20 price point with no increase with the new interior addition. However when the LIT version goes in, it will go to $25. I'm presently deciding where and how I want to put in the floor lights. The overhead section was designed to lend itself to the overhead lighting from the center channel, and from the each window drop-light inset. Anyway, I want to get the production notes updated with some juicy content before I seal this and set it as the new update.

9.4.08 - Completed. I think like 10 pages of text in the Production Notes / POH. Now set to complete, zipped, uploaded and pages updated.

AADX - AADX SeaKing IX MK2

http://forums.xplanefreeware.net/index.php?app=blog&blogid=17&showentry=68

AADX SEAKING IX MKII

Update 8.18.08. Mk2 model posted, download page updated. Includes exhaustive production_notes file, and countless elements of new content and improvements.

Redesigned forward 1/3 of the mid-deck salon, forward window and side windows. For three primary reasons, safety, aerodynamics, and functionality. The front window section was subject to impact hazards from high speed weather, hail, as well as birds & water-fowl. While rare, there are birds often near the surface and along coastlines that pose a collision hazard for a craft such as the Seaking. At the speeds that it flies in IGE WIG flight, it would pose a real hazard to the large un-reinforced mid-deck windows that faced forward. Part of the redesign objective was to then also (aside from increase deflection degree, was to also optimize aerodynamics and efficiency. Then, along with redesign based on safety & aerodynamics inspired redesigning the side windows into a form that better reflect the shape of the ship, and mimick similar angles to the trailing edge of the cockpit window, and the rake angle of the mid-deck forward now solid face.

The result of all this is a dramatically more aerodynamic forward hull, with matched angles for the mid deck rake, to the bridge cockpit forward face rake angle, all of which compliment the hull profile trailing edge angle, with matched window leading and trailing edge angles, with side window matched support post angles and improved hull strength around the mid-deck.

All this work pushed me forward into interior re-design on the flight bridge with new seats and rendered surfaces, including carpet, flight bridge desk, center console, vertical panel back face, and aft bridge access door with vents. Transom Garage has been render baked and now looks real! There's more to do on this model in all directions, but this represents a great next step with this design. As a result i've opened the production notes file and am making attempts to document all the WIG related topics I did with the Seawing, with very specific testing, speed remarks, and hopefully SeaKing scale specific instructions. In the meantime and without further adieu.... the skunkworks photos.

AADX - AADX TGAW TargaWing IX

http://forums.xplanefreeware.net/index.php?app=blog&blogid=17&showentry=66

AADX TargaWing IX (TGAW) : Maui to Molokai

Targa top variant of the SeaWing IX. New model with fuse mesh cut at the canopy seam, with node by node matched edges for a new cockpit object designed for the open air body. Window frame, edge and aft faces all perfectly seam, with custom texture and material treatments. New 3d cockpit interior for the open-air body has render_baked shaded surfaces.

Throw a couple duffel bags, towels, and beach or dock goodies in the behind the seat storage cubbey, and enjoy the glorious summer sun. Water surface, IGE flying to feel the cool water surface air while you fly the cushy and smooth ground-effect air at ~80-85kts. Be sure to slow down the engine/prop to ~1200-1500 Np for a nice low thrum as you cruise along. Like the full size hardtop of the Mercedes SL's, this top is removed and stored prior to departing. Release imminent, and terms TBA. Based on explicitly strategic development, all 'Seawing' paints apply to both XCWG & TGAW, while body and cockpit are different objects. As of -now- AADX SEAWING IX includes 5 new CV1 paints (Hawaiian Lei in 3 colors, Plaid, Pacifica, and an updated RiconG)
