Hmm, I tried this on linux in both 9.01r1 and 9.20b7 and get the following, which from what I can see is a different error from the one in the previous few pages.

So it seems this doesn't work with v9. Anyone have any ideas on how fix this and make it work in v9? I was excited to finally have some Norway airport scenery but it seems it's not to be.

edit: a friend also gets this, he's using 9.20b7

I PM'd Howdy in May about an update for v9, and he said that it would be out in 2 weeks...I don't know what happened, I guess he's just busy.

You can use the dsf2txt tool to convert the env file into a dsf file! I did that with ENGM quite some time ago and it worked just fine for me.

Here is what the dsf2txt Readme states:

OVERVIEW
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

DSF2Text is a utility that converts X-plane Distribution Scenery Format (DSF)
files to a text format and back again.

DSF2Text can also extract the custom objects from an ENV file and build an
overlay DSF.

WARNING: Working with DSF files as text DSF2Text is intended primarily for
programmers who want to create DSF files.

WARNING: this utility does NOT work with Mars ENV files!

Oh, so nothing that can be done about it besides to update it for v9? if only I knew how to use WED or whatever, I'd do it myself then.

Guess I'll have to continue patiently waiting for some other Norway scenery, or for someone to update this one. Thanks anyway

edit: oh, just as was typing you came in to save the day skipper, thanks. I'll give that a try :)
edit2: couldn't get dsftool to work, the dsf files it was spitting out were all the same size, 350 bytes which I'm guessing is just the header data. oh well, was worth a try

You're just missing the 2.05 update which is here:
Update
Works fine in V9. :)

Hmm, that is actually what I'm using when I get the error. I'm extracting the first zip then replacing that earth nav data included with that with the one from the 2.05 update... which I think is the right procedure.

edit:
after a whole load of messing about I finally got it to work in 9.20b7, at least the objects. I'm not sure if the custom ground textures work.... as far as I can see those are declared in the env files but the new dsf files I made don't make any mention of the textures.

Turns out DSFTool was spitting out correct files but only 2 (+60+010 and +60+011) had any used objects so the rest (the 350 bytes ones) were useless. Also +60+011 was referencing a custom object that doesn't exist (LightPoles.obj) which was a lot of effort to fix manually.

I'd still appreciate a properly fixed version of this but at least now I've got something till then

I'm not sure why our XPFW X-Plane 9 registry isn't showing up for most users, but I uploaded ENGM9 there last week. For those of you who can't access that forum yet, here is a download link

ENGM 9 is available for download by clicking this link:

ENGM 9 SUMMER and WINTER

Unzip the file, open the resultant folder and review the installation instructions before installing. Sorry for the delay.

I would like to thank Andrew Thomsen for allowing me to use some of his textures in this project. Andrew created them for use for use in Fly!. I'm sure all of us appreciate his help. Additionally, I would like to thank the indivduals who allowed me to place their static aircraft, or include their custom liveries.

Hi Tom,

Great to see my old stuff is coming to life again! Right now I am into the process of buying X-Plane (finally)...and might get back to you regarding further development of the ENGM terminal. We might have a look at ENCN as well...but the coastlines in that area have to be updated (I see VERY old data there), before ENCN gets into question.

Cheers,
Andrew Thomsen

are the static planes pictured actually part of the scenery, or is that just on yours. Does it work with autogate?
