Started off with 2 days in Venice which were really great. Then boarded our cruise ship where we visited Dubrovnik (Croatia), Santorini (Greece), Izmir/Ephesus (Turkey), and Athens (Greece). 7 days on the boat and I was glad to get off. I was tired of eating at the same restaurant for a week. Then we drove to Verona where we spent the day. Spent the night in Bologna, which is not the best city, at least it looked that way to me. It looked run down. Then we drove to Maranello for the Ferrari Museum
After that we spent a few days in Florence with a day trip to Pisa. Then 2 days in a tiny little Italian town called Panicale. It sits on the top of a mountain in the vicinity of Assisi and Perugia. We stayed at this little hotel that was amazing. Dinner was in this little wisteria tree covered room, the manager was great, and the food was even better! After that a day in Pompei and then off for 3 days in Rome Was a great vacation!Pics:
