Hi Tom,

Not intending to bother you, I am just hoping you can give us an update on Victoria and Esquimalt (YYJ and surrounding area). I know you were planning to start work on it around now, and I am hoping you can let us know (even if just to confirm that this is indeed still happening.)

Thanks
Joe

Sorry for the delayed response on this. I've got some other things going on right now. I am putting the finishing touches on my latest update to Canadian rockies and should be able to start work on a MAJOR update to Inside Passage. This update will include Victoria and about 5 more airports. It will also include optimization of the airport data file and will fix some LOD issues I've recently discovered. I will also do a complete optimization of Inside Passage to take advantage of X-Plane 9's texture paging capability. This "should" significantly reduce VRAM requirements and allow you to run at higher resolution settings.

I still think this update will be ready for release around the first of the year. (2 months from now).

Sound's Awesome Tom! (Here's hoping one of the new airports is Port Angeles across the strait. Got a chance to visit it, quite the GA airport with scheduled service to BFI.

Thanks!

Great, Looking Forward to it.
Have walked around Victoria and watched the Twin Otters land in the Harbour there, blew me away.
Love Inside Passage. Thanks.

Just so you know I'm working on the new update for Inside Passage, here is a first look at Victoria. These screenshots are a few weeks old, but they were taken just after I finished placing the new photo scenery at the airport. I'll post some more current ones this weekend.

Awesome. I can't wait. I spent about 5 months out there for navy training. It will be nice to finally fly around in XP and see the sights.

Just a short update on the progress. Short answer is I'm running a bit behind on finishing this up, but here are a few screenshots of the terminal.

Looks good, but I'd swear that the dash 8 model you are using is the Q400. Jazz only flies the classic 100 and 300 models.

Also, While I am being nit picky, The gates don't use tugs. The aircraft pulls in on an angle, the gate moves out to it (They are stowed almost alongside the terminal) and then when ready to taxi out the jetway is pulled back, the aircraft starts engines and then just turns out. No push back tug needed. I also think some of the walk out ramps are not placed correctly. The Dash 8's that pull up do so parallel to the big finger. I also came in on a WJA 737 and we parked Parallel on the west side of the terminal as well. ( using the walkway on the right on the second shot.) Also I'm pretty sure Jazz does not fly the CRJ to YYJ. They do get a few mainline flights in the A319 and ERJ's but I've never seen the CRJ/A there.

For the military ramp, any chance you could model a CC150? http://en.wikipedia..../CC-150_Polaris I've seen her on the military ramp there a few times.

Cheers
Joe

Good catch on the Dash-8s. I've been meaning to rebuild them as -300s, and since you caught me, it looks like it's time to do it.. Here are a few more screenies:

Funny you mentioned the CC-150. I was out at KVCV this morning and I saw 6 Canadian Alpha Jets parked on the ramp. I walked over to the fence and struck up a conversation with one of the pilots. The detachment is deployed here to support Green Flag and will be here for most of January. As we were chatting, a CC-150 landed and taxied up to the parking area. Anyway, the temperature on the ramp was 70°F (21°C). Sounds like a hardship deployment to me ;)

I spent the afternoon finishing up the tower and got a start on Victoria Flying Club hanger. Here is a screenshot. :)

Victoria Flying Club is finished except for a few club aircraft. I'm still looking for some picts I can use as a basis for my aircraft textures.

Here are a few more screenshots. Also, anyone interested in beta testing this, please Email me

I'm still working on the southeast corner of the field. Here are a few more screenshots. If you have volunteered as a beta tester, I should have a beta ready to go in about 3 or 4 days. I'm still looking for some testers with mid range systems, both Mac and PC.

Looking great. Was doing some medivac flights there on Vatsim today. Can't wait to see what you do with the city and the Ferry Terminal. (HMCS Naden, Work Point Barracks, HMCS Dockyard, CFAD Rocky Point would also be cool. Also, HMCS Malahat is now the home of the new Harbour ATC tower.)

Sorry for the delay on this. I had the opportunity to go down to Antarctica for a few weeks and I just couldn't pass up an opportunity like that. Since my last update, I have completed work on the Southeast (tower) complex and the Southwest (Military) ramp. I will be releasing a new beta today that includesthese updates. Realistically, I have about 2 weeks of work left on CYYJ before I will consider it finished.

Here are a few screenshots of where I am as of today.
