Has anyone else had major frame rate drops in 9.44? since upgrading even the most simple of airport sceneries get fogged in now...in 9.43 the sim was perfectly smooth...now it's jerky foggy and basically...rubbish...
Any help would be most welcome....How can I turn back the clock and get back to 9.41 or 9.42? because for me..9.44 is a joke.

My frame rates have improved if anything - however, one thing I've noticed with the last few releases of X-Plane which seems if anything a little more pronounced in the 9.4x series might help. At times I'll fire up X-Plane and find that the frame rate is down in the slide-show range, or I'll look around and find that in a certain direction the same thing happens, or I'll fly into an area with custom scenery and again I get a slide-show.
The cure? Go to rendering options and change the screen resolution to something else, then back again, then close up the rendering options screen.
Now I'm on an iMac with an ATI 4850 so it may be something to do with my particular setup - I'd be interested to know if this is happening to others too so I can submit a bug report - but as an example I have custom scenery installed at YSSY. When I fly into the airport from a distance under CAVOK conditions at a certain point the frame rate drops from around 80 to being pinned at 19 (the actual frame rate is probably more like 1fps!). I hit the rendering options screen, change from 1920x1200/32 to 1600x1000/32 and back again without changing any other settings and when I return to flying again I'm getting around 35fps. With the scenery I'm using and my settings it eventually does get to a worst case of around 21fps but I'm happy enough with that.
Don't know if this will help or if anyone else has the same thing happening but I thought I'd throw it out there. Like I say, there doesn't seem to be an obvious set of conditions which causes this and it may be a quirk of how I'm set up but I'd like to know.

I gave it a try and it seemed to help to an extent, but it seems that the sim needs to be cranked over 2 or 3 times before hand..i.e launch quit, launch quit, launch..then the slide show has gone and no more fog back to high frame rates even at Heathrow, which is a huge scene and it seems to be the case on both the PC and Mac..however just as one problem seems to be ironed out for the time being (although not ideal) another problem comes along...
