One of the old Air France Concorde's has begun a restoration program to able it to taxi under its own power. F-BTSD is in a French aerospace museum at Le Bourget, outside Paris.
So will we ever see a Concorde take to the sky's again? The restored Avro Vulcan has show that complex aircraft can be professionally restored and then returned to flight.

The reason the Concorde was taken out of service was just wrong to begin with. It was debris on
the runway that caused it to explode. Should never have retired to begin with. But like everything,
not unlike what is happening to Toyota right now is what makes this so distasteful.

Concorde is still one of the most beautiful aircraft ever made. Concorde was indirectly a victim of the crash in that while it was grounded, the airlines figured out that they could make much more ferrying first class passengers sub-sonically. Concorde makes $14 per passenger mile while the B747-400 makes $91 per passenger mile. Sure Concorde could be made airworthy, but it would operate at a huge loss, no one's willing to support the maintenance effort that would be required, and it's estimated it'll cost $15 to $25 million to get Concorde flying again. It's a crying shame it's no longer gracing our skies, but that's free enterprise for you.
