iPad as an IFE system?

Just came up with this interesting idea. Let's say that Apple made a smaller iPad (7" screen rather than the current 9" screen), and they came up with a seatback docking system (with power connection) and created the ability to stream content (music, video, live tv, internet) via a WiFi network. Passengers could access the entire iTunes music store (and possibly generate revenue for the airline) and be able to plug in their iPods/iPhones through USB and download the content they've purchased (an integrated credit card slot would also be necessary). But here's the real bonus: the current 9" iPad weighs about 1.5 pounds. The entire system (including a media server, which could be as small as a mac mini) would weigh far less than a traditional AVOD system (thus saving fuel for the airlines).
Any thoughts?

Good idea, but cost may play an important issue, however I'm sure Apple and the Airlines could work out a deal. I'd love to see it happen, unfortunately, with today's economic situation, it most likely won't happen anytime soon, if at all. Great idea though.
Even though I live in China, I am still American!!!
